The TROUSER 1 COURSE is designed to help you with the fit issues and methods in trouser construction. After trying-on a sample pair of trousers we will learn where your adjustments need to be made (if any!) and then transfer any changes to a calico toile using our pre-cut pattern blocks. Learn about fit, marking-up, measuring, cutting-out as well as sewing the toile. This toile will be the basis for final fitting 'tweaks 'and be used to make the trousers in the featured style in our Trouser 2 course and is yours to use for other trouser styles you may wish to make at home. We have 'try-ons' prepared in hip sizes 98cms to 118cms (6 sizes). The straight leg style has been chosen to enable fit issues to be assessed more easily as well as being quite fashionable!. This course will not address very complex fit problems (because of available session time). This is quite an intensive course (but timed not to be hurried), so sewing accuracy is important and as such, is not suitable for beginners. You will learn lots of tips along the way! All Toile materials, pattern card / paper and equipment provided. Sew using our fantastic JUKI machines. Just bring yourself along ! Course bookings cut-off 4 days before course date. We will need to contact you about sizing before the course and have had information returned. Maximum class size 5. PLEASE NOTE - This is a 4 week course, 2.5 hours each session. If you are unable to attend any session (or part of) it will not be possible to revert that session's work within later sessions. Tutors: Pippa Pease and/or Tim Gidney.
