Tambour Embroidery

Tambour chain stitch is an efficient method of recreating a lace effect. It is used today widely across the fashion industry to attach beads, sequins and create decorative chain and satin stitch. Learn the basics of the tambour technique. Chain stitching with a special tool, the tambour hook and adding some spot beads to a design of your choice. Your tutor Caroline Homfray is an artist, embroidery and facilitator. She teaches at the Royal School of Needlework, where she has recently been rated as an outstanding tutor. A kit of all materials required including the hire of a frame and tambour hook will be £10 payable on the day. Tambour hooks will be available to purchase at the end of the class.
